Battle review

1st Q. Early in the game, #23 Reita Tsutsumi (4th grade) takes a shot from a rebound. After that, #25 Norinobu Nabeta (law 2) hit a 3-pointer right after his opponent made a 3-pointer, and the match continued to be even. Furthermore, #23 Tsutsumi received a pass from #0 Sugishin Ifeanyi (3rd year) and fired a shot from under the goal, exciting the venue, followed by #25 Nabeta and #8 Taizo Ishida (4th year law). Houdai does not let up on his attacking stance, including sinking 3-pointers. However, they were plagued by Rikkyo University’s 3-pointers, who were gradually starting to find a flow, and Hodai’s own fouls, and ended the first quarter with a 5-point deficit, 20-25.

The second quarter started with a 5-point deficit, but a mid-range shot from #21 Fujihira Kosei (4th grade) and a jump shot from #32 Taiki Kanno (2nd grade) brought the lead to one point. After that, the game remained even, but #0 Sugi Nobu’s 3P shot tied the game. Then #10 Atsuto Sakamoto (Genfuku 3) took a drive and #75 Yanagida Daito (Ei 3) calmly made a shot from the bottom of the goal. After that, #10 Sakamoto made a layup from a drive and reversed the game. succeed in Rikkyo University chose a timeout, and after the timeout, the opponent made a 3-pointer and the game was reversed, but #18 Ren Yaesawa (2nd Law) made a post play and an off-ball screen play led to #7 Ryoki Motoyama (3rd Law). They hit a 3-pointer and finished the first half with a one-point lead, 35-36.

▲#21 Fujihira

The third quarter begins with a one-point lead. Despite their defense and quick offense that invite mistakes from their opponents, they are unable to widen the point difference. But after that, the team gradually gained momentum with #21 Fujihira’s shot under the goal and #8 Ishida scoring a 3-pointer from a fast break. Furthermore, just before the end of the 3rd quarter, #25 Nabeta made a free throw to make it 48-54, heading into the final quarter with a 6 point lead.

The 4th quarter continued with the flow of the end of the 3rd quarter, with Hodai showing off. #25 Nabeta’s 3P and #21 Fujihira’s mid-range shot were both successful, increasing the lead to 15 points at 50-65 after about 3 minutes. After that, they continued to use thorough defense to prevent their opponents from scoring. #21 Fujihira’s two consecutive 3Ps and #23 Tsutsumi’s powerful dunk made it 54-73, and the tide was completely towards Hodai. In the final stages, #22 Takada made some shots and the game ended at 58-81. We achieved a big win that strengthens our hopes of participating in the replacement match! !

Player interview

#8 Ishida Taizo(F4)
-Looking back on today’s match

To be honest today, we had a bad first half and it was a very close game, but from the start of the second half we found our rhythm and were able to open up the score, albeit slowly, so I’m glad.

-Looking back on your own play

I made two threes today, but my success rate wasn’t very good, so I want to make adjustments again and make it.

-It seemed like the tide had changed since the 3rd point was decided in the 3rd quarter, but how did you feel?

I think we were able to break up the opponent’s flow by making the goal there and forcing them to take a timeout, but the difference in points wasn’t that far apart at that point, so we had to try again from there. I played with that feeling.

-For the next match

If we win tomorrow, we will earn the right to go to the replacement match, so I definitely want to win and go to the replacement match.

-To all the fans

Thank you for your continued support. We will definitely win tomorrow’s match and move on to the replacement match, so please support us.

-Looking back on today’s match

In today’s game, I was talking with Dience about trying to rebound from the first quarter. I think it was good that we were able to defend well and keep the score at the end, even though we were let down at times.

-Looking back on your own play

Everyone around me was scoring points, so I focused on providing passes rather than attacking. Everyone made the decision, so I’m really grateful.

– What did you keep in mind when you were responsible for carrying the ball for a long time?

I was really calm when carrying the ball, and I would say I wasn’t scared, but I wanted to carry the ball with confidence and not be afraid of the opponent’s pressure.

-What preparations and measures did you take as a team for this match?

The countermeasure team did a lot of cutting during practice. We weren’t able to react at first, but as we practiced more and more, we were able to react normally, and I feel like we did a good job with the defense today.

-For the next match

Even now, in the meeting, we all talked about how we should do our best, so I really want to do our best in preparation for the replacement match.

-To all the fans

I will be participating in the replacement match and going to some parts, so please support me.
