The Arcieri della Martesana archery club in Bellinzago Lombardo wrapped up a accomplished 2024 with a flurry of medals adn their annual “Stella di Natale” social tournament.
Dominating the Field: Competition Highlights
December saw the club’s archers participating in several competitions, including the “XV Trofeo Città di Pioltello” hosted by the A.G.M. on December 7th and 8th. Five athletes from Bellinzago Lombardo competed,achieving remarkable results.
In the Olympic Master Male division, Davide Verri secured the gold medal with an impressive 555 points.Nicola Zanoni placed twelfth with 483 points, while mario Poli finished seventeenth with 470 points. Lorena Scipioni also claimed gold in the Olympic Master female division. Moreno paisi secured tenth place in the Master Male Barebow division with 469 points.
Verri, Zanoni, and Poli further solidified their dominance by winning gold in the Olympic Master Male team classification, amassing a total of 1508 points and surpassing both the Arcieri della Francesca from Urgnano and the host team, A.G.M. of Pioltello.
Festive Fun: The “Stella di Natale” Social Tournament
Beyond competitive events, the Arcieri della Martesana hosted their annual “Stella di Natale” social tournament on December 13th and 14th. This kind competition served as a festive gathering for members before the holiday season, while also crowning the winter social champions.
The tournament featured some exciting upsets. Moreno Paisi emerged victorious in the Barebow category, dethroning the reigning summer champion, Daniele Alessandro Folli. Marco Simari claimed victory in the Compound division, surpassing Maurizio Egi. Andrea Tresoldi maintained his title in the Olympic division.
Chiara Cavallini, a newcomer to the club, secured the title in the Female Barebow category. Luca Tresoldi won the Olympic Junior Male title,while Sara Cantarelli topped the Olympic Female category. Carol Maggioni claimed victory in the junior Female Barebow division.
On December 14th, the ”Stella di Natale” Junior tournament took center stage, focusing on fun and participation rather than intense competition.Alongside traditional archery targets, minigames were set up to encourage a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, reminding everyone that archery is ultimately about having fun.
A Silver Lining: Final Competition of the Year
The year concluded with the Arcieri della Martesana participating in a three-day competition in Voghera (PV) organized by the local A.S.D. Lorena Scipioni continued her impressive streak, earning a silver medal with a score of 516 points.
