Young judokas from across the department gathered in Saleilles for an impeccably organized tournament.
With the confidence of the Departmental Judo Committee 66, Saleilles Olympic Judo organized the first departmental tournament of the year, a major event which brought together more than 1,000 judokas from the department.
A success both on a sporting and organizational level. The tournament took place in a friendly and well-orchestrated atmosphere, thanks to the involvement and flawless organization of all the volunteers, judokas and parents of judokas, of Saleilles Olympic Judo.
As soon as the doors opened, the excitement was palpable in the large room of the José-Arrieta complex made available by the town hall for this great event.
During the competition, the judokas from the baby to junior categories, coming from all the clubs in the department, were able to compete in ideal conditions.
The victories and defeats were experienced with great intensity, but always with respect for the fundamental values of judo: courtesy, respect for the opponent and the spirit of camaraderie.
Parents and spectators also observed moments of great emotion, with judokas of all ages who outdid themselves to win the coveted medal and, on a few occasions over the two days, awarded by François Rallo, mayor.
For the city and Olympic Judo, this tournament represents a real moment of pride, an event which showed that Saleilles Olympic Judo is a club of enthusiasts.
