Chamouilley Judo Club Celebrates Young Athletes’ Success
The Chamouilley Judo Club is buzzing with excitement after a prosperous outing for its young athletes. Two rising stars, Antonin Petitjean and Mattéo Job, made thier competitive debut at Bourbonne-les-Bains, achieving impressive podium finishes.Antonin, a dedicated judoka for the past two years, secured first place in the under 90 kg category, while Mattéo showcased his skills, earning a commendable third place in the under 73 kg division.
Their coach, alric Limelette, who is currently pursuing his CQP (professional qualification certificate) to become a certified martial arts instructor, expressed immense pride in their accomplishments.
The club’s youngest members also had a chance to shine, participating in their inaugural samurai and mini-chicks activity in Saint-Dizier. While they may have encountered some initial challenges with judo terminology, their progress throughout the year has been remarkable, as highlighted by their enthusiastic coach. The second-year judokas demonstrated remarkable dedication, achieving the maximum score of 150 points, a testament to their rigorous training regimen.
Looking ahead, the Chamouilley Judo Club has a packed schedule for January. Alric,Amaury,and Tanguy will test their skills in a ne-waza competition,while Antonin is gearing up for another challenge in Épinal.
Adding to the festive spirit, santa Claus made a special appearance at the club’s last session before the holidays, showering the young athletes with treats to enjoy before a well-deserved pancake evening.

Alric: It’s a pleasure to be here! I’m always happy to talk about our amazing young judokas and the sport we love.
Moderator: Let’s dive right in! Two of your athletes, Antonin petitjean and Mattéo Job, made their competitive debut at Bourbonne-les-Bains. Antonin secured first place in the under 90 kg category, while Mattéo earned a commendable third place in the under 73 kg division. What can you tell us about their performance and what makes them stand out?
Alric: I’m incredibly proud of both Antonin and Mattéo. This was their first competitive experience, and they showed nerves of steel. Antonin, despite only being with us for two years, displayed immense technical prowess and tactical awareness. He fought with confidence and composure, truly dominating his weight class. Mattéo, while newer to the sport, demonstrated incredible heart and resilience. he faced some tough opponents but never gave up, ultimately securing a well-deserved bronze medal. Their dedication and raw talent are truly inspiring.

You mentioned some initial challenges with judo terminology, but their progress has been remarkable. What strategies do you employ to engage these young athletes and foster their development?
Alric: Working with our youngest judokas is pure joy. Bringing them into the world of judo isn’t about pushing them too hard but about igniting their passion for the sport. We make learning fun through games,creative drills,and storytelling. Of course, introducing them to judo terminology takes time and patience. We use visual aids, repetition, and hands-on demonstrations to make it more accessible and engaging. Seeing them grasp new techniques and grow in confidence is incredibly rewarding.

Alric: It speaks volumes about their dedication and the time they invest in training. Reaching this benchmark requires consistent effort, discipline, and a genuine love for judo.I’ve seen their dedication firsthand in every training session.They push themselves, support each other, and are always eager to learn and improve. This achievement is a testament to their hard work and a strong foundation for future successes.

Alric: Planning is key.We tailor training regimens based on individual needs and competition styles. For the ne-waza competition, we’ll focus on ground fighting techniques, takedowns, and clinching strategies. Antonin, facing a tougher opponent in Épinal, will undergo a more intensive training program focusing on strength, conditioning, and refining his Judo gameplan. We analyze opponents, identify strengths and weaknesses, and devise strategies to maximize their performance on the tatami.
