Concern remains for Paris Saint-Germain. Despite their victory this Tuesday in Salzburg (0-3), the Parisians are still not in the top 24 and will still have to fight to qualify for the Champions League play-offs. In 25th place with seven points, the Rouge et Bleu are however only a small point behind Manchester City, PSV Eindhoven and Dinamo Zagreb.
Conversely, Stade Brestois and Lille will see the knockout phase of the European competition. With 13 points, the two French clubs are in the good pack, in 7th and 8th places respectively. In the event of positive results during the last two days of the league phase, they can even legitimately aim for direct qualification for the round of 16.
Logically beaten at Arsenal (3-0) this Wednesday evening, Monaco is currently in 16th place with ten points. Although the qualification has not yet been confirmed, it is nevertheless on the right track. The last two matches, against Aston Villa and Inter Milan, will be decisive.
Two major European players are in a less good position: Real Madrid and Manchester City. The last two winners of the C1 have been struggling since the start of the competition and are not safe from a surprise elimination. The month of January will be one of all dangers.
