Chicharito: Honestly, it was pure adrenaline! We knew it was going to be a tight game against Persians, they’re a fantastic team. When we went to penalties, I just focused on staying calm, trusting my teammates, and hoping our luck would hold. Seeing Antonio Monterde get that yellow card changed the momentum,for sure,but ultimately,it came down to our composure and ability to convert.
Moderator: Winning the championship as the regular season toppers – is this a special landmark for the Kings League?
Chicharito: Absolutely! It shows the level of competition and the quality of play in this league. It’s been an amazing experience seeing how dedicated everyone is, both the players and the fans. To be the first team to achieve this double – topping the regular season and winning the championship – feels incredible.

Obviously, this victory comes amidst preparations for the Clausura 2025 with Chivas.How do you manage the demands of participating in two leagues together?
Chicharito: It’s definitely a challenge! But I thrive on it. I love playing football and representing both Chivas and Olympus. It keeps me constantly sharp and motivated, and thankfully, both teams have been incredibly supportive of my commitment to each other.
Moderator: Speaking of Chivas, expectations are high for the Clausura 2025. With a new coach in Oscar Garcia, how optimistic are you about Chivas’ chances this season?
Chicharito: I’m very excited aboutOscar Garcia’s arrival. He’s a proven coach with a great track record. He brings fresh ideas and a renewed focus. We have a talented squad, and I truly believe that under his guidance, we can challenge for the Liga MX title.
Moderator: We saw Chivas draw their first preseason game 0-0 against Mineros. How importent are these early games for building team chemistry and momentum?
Chicharito: They’re crucial! Preseason is all about getting back into the rhythm, testing new strategies, and most importantly, building that team spirit. A 0-0 draw might not sound exciting,but it’s about getting those miles in the tank and getting ready for the real battles to come.
