Matchday 10 of the Iberdrola Table Tennis League was played between December 13 and 18 with key matches for the classification. The victories of the leading teams stood out, which consolidated their positions, as well as the triumphs that allowed other teams to get out of the relegation positions, before the Christmas break.
UCAM Cartagena TM, leader of the classification, overwhelmingly beat Irún Leka Enea with a score of 4-0. In the first match, María Xiao defeated Matilde Pinto 3-0, followed by Qi Fei’s victory against Ioana Ghemes with the same score. Sofia-Xuan Zhang maintained the streak by beating Ángela Rodríguez 3-0. In the last match, Qi Fei closed the day with another 3-0 against Matilde Pinto, consolidating the supremacy of the Cartagena team in the competition.
UE Sant Cugat achieved an important 4-1 victory against Hujase Jaén Paraíso Interior, a result that allows them to leave the relegation zone. Limei Hu opened the day with a 0-3 victory against Paula Bueno. Chen Ke added a point for the home team by beating Mariona Munné 3-1. Chiara Colantoni regained the lead by defeating Anna Wegrzyn also by 0-3. In the last matches, Limei Hu beat Chen Ke 0-3, and finally, Chiara Colantoni beat Paula Bueno 3-0 to ensure the visitor’s victory.
In the Catalan derby, Miró Ganxets Costa Daurada defeated Girbau Vic TT with a score of 4-1, establishing themselves in fifth position in the table. In the first match, Takara Murakami fell to Camila Moscoso 3-0. Margaryta Pesotska beat Irina Gimeno by the same score, while Natalya Prosvirnina beat Silvia Coll 3-0. In the final matches, Pesotska beat Camila Moscoso again, this time 3-0, and Murakami closed with another 3-0 victory against Silvia Coll.
The Universidad de Burgos RM Terán secured its second position after defeating Club Tennis Taula Tramuntana Figueres 4-1. Annamaria Erdelyi and María Berzosa were key in winning their two games. Erdelyi beat the first against Nicole Arlia 3-0 and the second against Gaia Monfardini 3-1. Gabriela Feher fell to Gaia Monfardini in the second point, 1-3. In their two duels, María Berzosa defeated Jana Riera 3-1 and Nicole Arlia 3-2, ensuring a comfortable victory for the Burgos team.
Finally, Son Cladera TTC – Mallorca reached third place after beating Cliniqas.com 4-1. Roxana Istrate opened with a 3-1 victory against Honoka Kawakita, but was responded to by Pauline Chasselin, who beat Noa Fukuoka by the same score. Eugenia Sastre also contributed to the score by beating Yanira Sánchez 3-2. In the final duels, Chasselin defeated Istrate 3-0, and Kawakita closed with a tight 3-2 victory against Yanira Sánchez, consolidating the success of the local team.
