FAS Sports Club Enters New era under Ssports Inc. Ownership
on December 25th, a significant shift occurred in the landscape of Salvadoran football as Ssports Inc. officially assumed complete ownership of FAS Sports Club. this transition, initially announced as a majority stake acquisition back in September, marks a new chapter for the historic Santaneco team.Ssports Inc., a company rooted in Santaneca but headquartered in the United States, is led by the Sincuir family. Their arrival has already brought tangible improvements to the club. Players have reported a more consistent salary schedule, receiving payments every two weeks. Moreover, the club has bolstered its management team with key appointments, including Spanish sports director David Caneda and Mexican sports manager Efrain Flores. The company’s commitment to FAS extends beyond immediate operational changes. Ssports Inc. has publicly declared its intention to construct a state-of-the-art sports complex for the club. They have already secured land at the entrance to Santa Ana, signaling their dedication to providing FAS with world-class facilities.
This acquisition concludes the tenure of AGM Sports Inc., which purchased the club in 2022 with enterprising plans for progress, including the construction of a sports complex. While AGM’s vision didn’t fully materialize, the new FAS governance expressed gratitude for their professionalism during the transition.
As FAS embarks on this new era, the club has yet to announce any changes to its roster following its notable runner-up finish in the Apertura 2024 tournament against 11 Deportivo. The future looks shining for the tigrillas as they prepare for the upcoming season under the guidance of Ssports Inc.
FAS Sports Club: New Owners, Shining Future?
Welcome back, sports fans! today on the show, we’re diving deep into the exciting changes happening at FAS Sports Club in El Salvador. Joining me today is none other than Marco Henríquez, former defender for the Salvadoran national team and a true legend of Salvadoran football.
Marco, thanks for being here. Let’s talk about the recent ownership change. Ssports Inc., headed by the Sincuir family, has taken the reins. What are your initial impressions?
Marco: “[It’sapositivedevelopmentIbelieveFASisaclubwitharichhistoryandpassionatefansbutthey’vefacedchallengesinrecentyearsSsportsIncseemscommittedtooinvestingintheclubbothonthefieldandoffThepromisesofanewsportscomplexaretrulypromisingandthefactthey’vealreadysecuredlandshowsthey’reseriousaboutthis”[It’sapositivedevelopmentIbelieveFASisaclubwitharichhistoryandpassionatefansbutthey’vefacedchallengesinrecentyearsSsportsIncseemscommittedtooinvestingintheclubbothonthefieldandoffThepromisesofanewsportscomplexaretrulypromisingandthefactthey’vealreadysecuredlandshowsthey’reseriousaboutthis”
Definitely. Steady paychecks for players and key appointments like Caneda and Flores also reflect a desire for professionalism. However, some might argue that AGM Sports Inc. also promised big things and didn’t quite deliver. What’s your take on that past experiance?
Marco: “You raise a good point. It’s understandable for fans to be cautious. But AGM’s involvement was quite short-lived. It’s critically important to assess Ssports Inc. based on their actions, not just their words. The fact they have a local connection being from Santaneca adds a layer of trust. They understand the club’s roots.”
It’s certainly encouraging. Speaking of roots, FAS came incredibly close to winning the Apertura 2024, finishing runner-up to 11 Deportivo. Do you think this new ownership can push them over the top next season?
Marco: “Absolutely. The foundation is there. They have a talented squad, and a new injection of resources could make all the difference.
I think building that state-of-the-art complex will be crucial. Having top-quality facilities attracts top-quality players. It shows ambition and a commitment to long-term success.”
So,it truly seems like hope is high for FAS fans. Let’s open this up to our audience now. What are your thoughts? Is this a new era for FAS,or will it be more of the same? Share your views in the comments below!
