Usual Tuesday analysis at Svethia Recanati. This time coach Michele Domesi, Luca Di Chiara’s assistant, spoke to us about the match won on Sunday against Loreto Pesaro: “Sunday’s was a fundamental victory in a not very fortunate period for us. After Matelica’s excellent performance, another important test awaited us against one of the teams favored to win the final which boasts a roster and technical staff of the highest order. During the week, having recovered Urbutis and Andreani, we had to do without first Magrini and then Pozzetti who were absent due to the flu. Between midweek sessions and various ailments recently there has been very little time to fully train and this can pay off in the long run in a balanced championship like this year’s. I have to congratulate the boys because they interpreted the match very well from the first minutes. They put great intensity and concentration on both sides of the pitch and were patient in finding the advantages we knew we could have with excellent ball circulation, without settling for the first solution but attacking the area to build open shots or to maintain the lead taken. After reaching +20, perhaps also due to the injury to Edoardo Fontana, we shut down by sharing the ball less and slowing down the game. This allowed our opponents to showcase all their offensive qualities and come back to within -2. Compared to seven days ago, we arrived at the point-to-point final more fresh and clear-headed and this allowed us to find better solutions with our more experienced players. I conclude by thanking Mauro Marchioli on behalf of the entire team and club for the time he spent with us and wishing him good luck in his new adventure.”
