9.4 million US dollars in prize money is certainly worth honoring. Even if the tax obligations are of course not taken into account. But if more than 21 million are added from advertising deals, then the 2024 financial year can be considered a success. These are exactly the numbers for Coco Gauff that were published by “Sportico” these days. There are probably no two opinions regarding the rewards earned, as these are officially documented. However, the income from advertising deals is probably based on estimates.
Basically, this list shows that when it comes to women’s sports, tennis is by far the most harmonious profession. There are five other WTA professionals in the top ten: Qinwen Zheng, Arnya Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu. The latter two benefit disproportionately from income from partnerships with sponsors.
Completing the Bel Etage in second place are freestyle skier Eileen Gu, who is winning big there after moving to China, exceptional gymnast Simone Biles and basketball player Caitlin Clark. And: Nelly Korda, the sister of tennis professional Sebastian, who plays a prominent role on the LPGA Tour.
Here are the top ten highest-earning female athletes in 2024 (in millions of US dollars)
