Everything achieved and still big goals: Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic begins the mission “100th tournament victory” on December 29th in Brisbane. Tournament organizers confirmed his participation on Wednesday. The tournament Down Under is part of the preparation for the Australian Open, which begins on January 12th in Melbourne. There, the 37-year-old is aiming for his 25th triumph at a Grand Slam tournament.

In order to surpass the previous record winner at the tour’s most prestigious tournaments, Margaret Court (24 titles), the Serb recently hired his former rival Andy Murray as coach. “I can’t wait to start my Australian tour in Brisbane and compete at Pat Rafter Arena again,” said Djokovic, who has never reached the final in Brisbane.
Only Roger Federer (103) and Jimmy Connors (109) have won 100 tournaments on the ATP tour so far. In 2024, Djokovic completed his collection of titles with the gold medal at the Olympic Games, but he was unable to win a Grand Slam tournament for the first time since 2017.
