Dominican Badminton Federation awaits the construction of its pavilion

The construction of a pavilion for their sport is the dream of the Dominican Federation of Badminton.

The athletes of this sport remain without a fixed place in which to train, which worries this Federation and its president, the former Pan American medalist of this discipline, Nelson Javier.

If it is for space, they already have it available. Approval is missing. “We have four courts next to the wu shu pavilion, it is a part that can be enabled for us to have our sports complex, which is a necessity,” said Javier. “So far they have not given us information if they are going to build it for the Central American and Caribbean Games. Santo Domingo 2026“.

Javier bases his goal on the achievements of badminton They are evident. “It is time for him to have his home, since we have results at the Central American and Caribbean level and the Pan American Games.”

It is a medal won by Javier himself, a bronze at the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games. “We do not have the economic conditions to rent a pavilion,” he said.

He thanked the New Horizons school for opening the doors for the senior team to train there. “But it limits us to training the sessions required by the national team,” he said. The reason is that other disciplines are practiced in the pavilion “and we only have one schedule, which is from 6 to 8:00 p.m.

The best news is that they are going to build us a pavilion. We have that space there, but we accept it wherever, although that is more central.
