Welcome back, basketball fans! We’ve got a special guest joining us today, a player whose career has taken him from the bright lights of the NCAA tournament to the diverse courts of Europe. That’s right, it’s none other than NBA draftee and veteran guard Doron Lamb, back for a second stint with UEB Gesteco Cividale!
Doron, thanks so much for joining us. You’ve had quiet the journey as those Kentucky Wildcat championship days. What ignited your return to Cividale after your experiences in Venezuela and various other leagues?
Doron Lamb: Hey,it’s great to be here. you know, Cividale holds a special place in my heart. The fans are amazing, the association is top-notch, and I genuinely enjoyed my time there before. When the opportunity arose to return, it felt like the right move. Plus, after exploring different leagues, I was looking for a familiar and comfortable habitat where I could contribute to a team with championship aspirations.
That’s certainly understandable. You’ve played in some incredibly competitive leagues – the NBA, G League, Montenegro, France, Greece, Turkey, Poland – the list goes on! How do you think these diverse experiences have shaped your style of play and your approach to the game?
Doron Lamb: Every league presents unique challenges and styles. Playing in the NBA obviously exposed me to the highest level of competition, but those European leagues taught me valuable lessons about adapting to different regulations, playing styles, and team dynamics. It’s made me a more versatile player, and I’m confident I can bring that versatility to Cividale.
This upcoming season will see you playing alongside some talented younger players. What advice would you give to these rising stars trying to make their mark in professional basketball?
Doron Lamb: My advice is simple: work hard, stay hungry, and be a good teammate. Professional basketball is a grind, but the rewards are worth it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, learn from veterans, and always strive to improve your game. Oh, and never underestimate the importance of teamwork – basketball is a team sport, after all.
You mentioned striving for championships.Cividale clearly aims for success. Do you think you have the right pieces in place to make a strong run this season?
Doron Lamb: I truly beleive we do. This team has a great mix of experience and young talent. We have a solid coaching staff, and the organization is committed to winning. It’s all going to come down to hard work, dedication, and believing in ourselves. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together.
