Ecuadorian Tennis Federation commemorated its 57th anniversary of founding | Soccer | Sports

With the presence of sports authorities, athletes, sponsors, and special guests, the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation (FET) celebrated its 57th anniversary of founding, in a very solemn formal ceremony.

The vice president of the FET, Tyrone Flores Pavón, was in charge of giving the words of welcome to this solemn commemorative session, in which former presidents of the institution such as Mario Canessa Oneto and Mr. Jaime Guzmán, members of the board of directors and commissions, also participated. of the FET, as well as special guests.

Canessa exalted the commemorative date of that historical moment, which occurred on November 28, 1967.

The Secretary General of the institution, César Pólit Ycaza, made a brief presentation of the book “Memories of Ecuadorian Women’s Tennis”, a bibliographic project directed by journalist Lino Cauja, which without a doubt is a great contribution to the bibliographic history of national tennis.

Subsequently, a plaque sent by the International Tennis Federation, ITF, was unveiled. The White Level award recognizes the National Tennis Center as a High Performance Center.

The ITF Development Officer for South America, Cesar Kist, explained the importance of the Ecuadorian Tennis Federation achieving the White Level recognition that places the FET National Center as a High Performance Center by the International Tennis Federation.

Present for the unveiling of the plaque were the past president, Jaime Guzmán, César Kist, Dr. Tyrone Flores, Miguel Olvera and the tennis player Bárbara Olvera.

The band of the Municipality of Guayaquil provided the musical note in this event that remembers a historic moment for Ecuadorian tennis. (D)
