The Carabinieri of the Cittadella Company, in order to combat the phenomenon of home burglaries and predatory crimes in general, have carried out on their own initiative an targeted extraordinary territorial control serviceinvolving the municipalities of Villa del Conte, Santa Giustina in Colle, Borgoricco, Camposampiero, Campodarsego and San Martino di Lupari, intensifying patrol services in the afternoon/evening time slot.
During the service, which saw the use of the respective patrols of the stations responsible for the territory, supported by crews of the Cittadella Company’s Radiomobile Unit, the main communication routes and the residential areas most exposed to the phenomenon were checked. 60 people identified and 43 vehicles checked.
Furthermore, during the service, the soldiers reported an 18-year-old resident in the Cittadellese area to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Padua in a state of freedom, as he was held responsible in the accusatory hypothesis for the crime of illegal carrying of weapons and/or objects capable of offending. The young man checked while driving his car and subjected to a search was found in possession of a baseball bat 70 centimeters long which he was unable to justify possession ofsimultaneously seized. It should be noted that the proceeding is in the preliminary investigation phase and the suspect must be considered not guilty until a possible final conviction.
