The Einsiedler Christmas market attracted a record number of visitors this year. Marc Länzlinger from the OK team draws an extremely positive conclusion: “We observed a large number of visitors. “Probably over 75,000 people came to the market.”

The concept has also proven successful in terms of traffic: “We were able to offer more parking spaces this year.” In addition to traffic cadets, Securitas was also deployed this year. There were individual acts of vandalism: panels on the market were torn down during the night.

Beggars were turned away

Roman Gisler, spokesman for the Schwyz cantonal police, draws a positive conclusion: “The Einsiedler Christmas market basically took place in an orderly manner.” Only a few thefts in which wallets were stolen remain to be reported; in one case, the daily income from a stand was lost. Beggars at the Christmas market, who were consistently expelled from the field by the police, also caught the eye. “In terms of traffic volume, it can be observed that there was no chaos this year. “The traffic circulated quite smoothly,” explains Gisler.
