The European League of Football (ELF) will start next year with 16 teams from nine nations.
While Nordic Storm from Copenhagen is the first Danish team on board, the Barcelona Dragons are leaving the league. The Milano Seamen will also take a year off after participating in two seasons and will not play again until 2026. Austria is still represented by ELF finalist Vienna Vikings and the Raiders Tirol.
The premier European football league, which has existed since 2021, will shrink from 17 to 16 teams next year. The league will be expanded further in the future. “Nothing will change in our goal of 24 teams in the final expansion stage,” said ELF managing director Zeljko Karajica.
