## The Judo Club: A Legacy of Excellence and Community
Boasting a thriving membership of 121 judokas, including 12 black belts, the Judo Club stands as a powerhouse in the region, securing an impressive 4th place ranking among the 21 clubs in the department. This success is a testament to the club’s dedication to high-quality instruction and the unwavering commitment of its members.
The club’s young athletes consistently demonstrate their prowess on the tatamis of Occitanie. Recent triumphs include Baptiste Ferouelle’s first-place finish in the cadet category at the Auch competition and Noah pelamourgues’ near podium finish at the highly competitive national tournament in Moissac, where he secured a commendable 5th place out of 32 fighters. These achievements highlight the exceptional talent and competitive spirit nurtured within the club.
Beyond individual successes, the Judo club fosters a strong sense of camaraderie. During a recent grade change event in Narbonne, Baptiste Ferouelle showcased his skills, winning 4 out of 5 fights and earning 40 valuable points towards his black belt.Unluckily, the event was marred by a serious injury sustained by club president Nicolas Anglade, who suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament. The Judo Club’s commitment to excellence extends to all age groups. The junior championship and the first round of the Departmental Council challenge for young children and chicks took place in rodez on December 14th. Noah Pelamourgues dominated the junior category, securing first place, followed closely by Nathanaël Roux in second and Lucas Vilaro in third. Among the youngest participants, Woury Jallow and Camille Noël Colin both achieved impressive second-place finishes. The club’s youngest members, the chicks and chicks, also returned home with a collection of medals, further solidifying the club’s reputation for nurturing talent across all age groups.
The Judo Club is more than just a training ground; it’s a vibrant community. On December 20th, the Claude-Fixes dojo hosted a festive Judo Christmas event. Judokas and their families participated in a shared judo session, followed by a delightful surprise. The evening culminated in a convivial aperitif dinner in the gymnasium’s social room, strengthening the bonds within the club community.
As the Judo Club approaches its 60th anniversary in the fall of 2025,preparations are underway for a memorable celebration. This milestone event will bring together past and present members to commemorate the club’s rich history and enduring legacy. Stay tuned for further details on this exciting occasion.
