Euroleague: ninth success in a row for Paris Basketball, against Maccabi Tel-Aviv

But who will stop the Paris Basketball gang? Launched like a rocket, the capital club has a string of successes in the Euroleague. Its latest victim is Maccabi Tel-Aviv (93-81) this Tuesday evening in a shock relocated to Belgrade (Serbia) due to the multiple conflicts in the Middle East. This is the ninth victory in a row for Paris Basketball in this Euroleague regular season, bringing its record to 10 wins for 3 defeats, the best of the 18 franchises entered. We are not yet halfway through the season (34 days in total) but Paris continues to impress.

This evening, it was in the first period that Tiago Splitter’s men made the difference. After two quarters, Paris was already 14 points ahead of Maccabi, only 15th in the regular season (4 wins, 9 losses now). But we had to resist the return of the Israeli club after returning from the locker room. The 3rd quarter was won by the “locals”, coming within 10 points of Paris Basketball. Supported by its executives, including the unstoppable TJ Shorts (22 points for him), who had an MVP (Most Valuable Player) season, the Parisians were able to contain the attempted comeback.

They finally won with a 12-point lead. The next day, in just three days, promises to be hot with a trip to Greece, to Olympiakos against Evan Fournier and his team. Paris Basketball will finish its first leg with a trip to ASVEL (December 13) and the receptions of Real Madrid (December 17) and Fenerbahçe (December 19).

Tuesday evening, at the same time, ASVEL won at the buzzer against Real Madrid in its LDLC Arena (80-78) in a breathtaking final (Real led by 5 points 53 seconds from time). This Wednesday, AS Monaco, the third French representative, hosts Olympiakos (7 p.m.) on the Rock.
