Jean-Pierre Huckler was elected president of the French BasketBall Federation. for a four-year term. He becomes the 14th president of the FFBB and succeeds Jean-Pierre Siutat.

During the weekend, French basketball turned a huge page in its history. That of Jean-Pierre Siutat and a particularly prolific era for the discipline on French territory. A dynamic ready to continue since Jean-Pierre Huckler, former vice-president under the mandate of Jean-Pierre Siutat, succeeds him. Jean-Pierre Huckler was elected president of the FFBB by an absolute majority with 95.41% of the votes.

Jean-Pierre Huckler did not fail to greet his predecessor. “ I succeed Jean-Pierre Siutat whom I wish to congratulate for the immense work accomplished during his three mandates. He was able to develop the Federation, strengthen its expertise, its image and give a strong boost to French basketball. I had the chance to accompany him for many years and see to what extent he devoted all his energy to the FFBB and basketball. May he be greatly thanked. »

A post-Paris 2024 dynamic on which to build

Under the leadership of its new president, the FFBB will have to continue to ride a positive dynamicmarked by a successful Paris 2024 Olympic Games and vector of new licensees. “My action plan will be broken down into five areas which I will share in the coming weeks and months with our leagues, committees and clubs. It is built around a clear vision for our sport: ffacilitate access to basketball and disseminate it to all sectors of society on the one hand, consolidate our results at the highest level by reaching first place on the podium on the other hand”assures Jean-Pierre Huckler.

The new president of the FFBB intends “to bring together in this positive momentum all the players in our sport: from the pros, through the National Basketball League, to the amateurs, to the public actors that are the communities, to the private sector with companies and our partners. A spirit of openness which must also guide us in the links that I intend to maintain with the International Federation. »
