For a long time, the world football association FIFA had difficulty finding a media partner for the Club World Cup. Now it is clear: a streaming service will broadcast the games.
The most important thing in brief
-
After much back and forth, FIFA has found a media partner for the Club World Cup in DAZN.
-
The streaming service will broadcast all 63 games of the new tournament for free.
-
At the same time, FIFA’s own streaming product will be integrated into DAZN.
The streaming provider DAZN will broadcast the Club World Cup next summer in the USA live and at no cost to viewers. The payment platform secured the worldwide TV rights to the tournament, which was expanded to 32 teams.
The total of 63 games from June 15th to July 23rd, 2025 will be shown free of charge: “To get access to the free offer, fans only need a DAZN account. But no paid subscription,” the company said.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is pleased that a TV partner has finally been found. “Every football fan in the world can see the best players from the 32 best clubs in the new FIFA Club World Cup,” said Infantino.
The new format of the Club World Cup had caused a lot of criticism in the past. The deal that has just been concluded with a media partner was also criticized. Such a deal is generally of great importance for revenue. According to reports, participating in the Club World Cup alone is worth at least $50 million.
FIFA integrates its streaming product into DAZN
The partnership between DAZN and FIFA also includes the integration of the world football association’s in-house streaming product. The draw this Thursday (7 p.m.) in Miami, where superstar Lionel Messi will be present, will be broadcast live by DAZN.
The 63 games will kick off in twelve venues in the USA. The opening game will take place in Miami, the final in New Jersey. The tournament is the country’s dress rehearsal for the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in the United States, Canada and Mexico. It is also considered a major prestige project by Infantino.
