CISTERNA DI LATINA – In his first year in Cisterna Volley, Willner Rivas immediately integrated into the group of coach Falasca, technical guidance he had in his first and only together with the Pontine team, experience in Europe, in Narbonne, France, paired with Jordi Ramón. The spiker born in 1995 has played on three different continents, winning, among others, 3 championships in Qatar.

“Here in Cisterna I’m really enjoying myself – Willner tells us – it’s a small but comfortable city. I’m feeling good with the team, the Super League championship is difficult but we’re making our way. In my sporting career I have had the opportunity to play in many countries, I can say that each one is different with its own characteristics, but the Credem Banca Super League has a very high level.”

The native of La Guaira has taken to the court in seven of the ten matches played so far, offering his contribution above all to the serve. “I’m liking everything about this new experience – continues Rivas – I don’t think there’s one thing I haven’t appreciated about Italy in these first months. I’m happy with our progress in the championship, I have no regrets. We are doing well, if we can continue on this path, with the desire to do better every day in training, we will be able to achieve all our goals.”

In addition to volleyball, where Rivas also won the award for Best Spiker-Receiver of Ligue A 2022/23 with the Narbonne shirt, there are other passions that the Venezuelan talent cultivates: “I don’t have any particular rituals before matches, if not to listen to music before taking to the field. In my free moments I observe the classic car sector. I have a great passion for vintage cars, a sector that I am passionate about and follow with pleasure. which for me now represents my job as well as being fun, I follow baseball. Once I’ve finished training, I like being with my family.”
