Next summer, one of the largest multi-sport events in the world is just around the corner – the FISU World University Games “Rhine Ruhr”. They will be held in six cities in a total of 18 sports, and the central venue will be Essen. The best university athletes in the world will compete in the sports park at Hallo, Messe Essen, Grugahalle, Zollverein and the ETUF tennis facility. There are competitions in archery, gymnastics, basketball, fencing, judo, rhythmic gymnastics, table tennis, tennis and taekwondo. Other cities taking part are Bochum, Mülheim, Duisburg, Hagen and Berlin.
Tickets for this major event are now available on the website FISU World University Games and to buy food at the tourist information center. The organizers are currently offering early bird discounts. Among other things, the Ground Pass* can be purchased at the Tourist Info Essen. This is a ticket that is valid for all cities, all venues and sports. The Ground Pass costs 79 euros in advance, a day ticket costs 9.75 euros. The ticket price includes a public transport ticket price level D within the VRR. The FISU World University Games will take place from July 16th to 27th.
*Please note that with the Ground Pass you are not entitled to a guaranteed seat and may have to switch to another sport or wait for the next free seat if a venue is full. However, at least 10% of the venue capacity is always reserved for Ground Pass holders.
