Marcus Rashford is one of Manchester United’s finest academy graduates. He was primed to become one of the best players in the club’s history, but the reverse has been the case.
While Rashford has largely been a disappointing academy graduate, there have been several youth players who were more talented and achieved a lot with the club.

George made 470 appearances for United and bagged 179 goals and 11 assists.
Arguably the best midfielder to have played for Man United. Scholes was notably known for his brilliant passing range but was an all-round midfielder.
Described as ‘untouchable’ by former Real Madrid star Zinedine Zidane, Scholes had an illustrious career with United. He won 25 titles including 11 Premier League and two UEFA Champions League.
He was inducted into the English Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2022.
Scholes made 718 appearances, notching 153 goals and 82 assists for the club.
He is widely considered one of the best footballers of all time. He is the second United’s academy graduate to be a recipient of the Ballon d’Or.
He was blessed with pace, long-range shooting, and stamina. He was also easygoing on the pitch.
The former English forward made 758 appearances for United, registering 243 goals and 24 assists.
He has also been inducted into the English Hall of Fame.
He was the best of the Busy Babes, the Red Devils’ academy graduates who progressed to the first team to win two back-to-back league titles.
He was one of the victims of the Munich Air disaster. It has been said that he would have been one of the best players of all time if he had played longer.
He was primarily a defensive midfielder but was regarded as a versatile player. He could use both feet and had a good passing ability.
He made 171 appearances for the club, chipping in 21 goals and five games. He is also an English Hall of Famer.
