Football, orienteering and archery for college athletes

To conclude the first part of the championship, the young Benjamins from the sports section of the d’Alembert college traveled last Wednesday to Réquista for the 3rd set of meetings.

“Like previous confrontations, we will alternate the very good and the less good during the 4 matches of the day. After a failed start against Pont-de-Salars and a severe 4-0 defeat we will recover to win the following two games against Réquista 1 (2-2) and Réquista 2 (4-0), finally demonstrating our technical superiority allowing us to develop several great collective actions.

Finally, against Baraqueville 1, we will lose 4/2 but the important thing remains the very satisfactory content which offered us a quality match both in the physical commitment and the level of play offered. Well done boys! See you soon for futsal and the winter period” agreed Cyril Aubesquier, their teacher. The same day an orienteering race was also organized in the streets of the Medieval City.

After a short explanation of the codes and colors of the CO maps which are developed according to specific standards (IOF), everyone returns to the starting point. Using a map, the athletes were able to discover the streets and the castle in order to find the markers. Each group had a phone which digitally validated (with GPS) the different crossing points via the VIKAZIMUT application.

At the end of training, it was time to compare the tracks of each group and discuss route choices. A very nice afternoon for everyone! As for the archers, they were training at the Sévérac gymnasium to prepare for upcoming competitions. A great boost this year for a group which is growing in number and quality.
