A number was needed. A magic. And that magic had a first and last name: Che Adams. It is thanks to him that Toro returned to success, conquering a difficult field like that of the “Castellani” of Empoli.

Vanoli mixes the cards, especially in attack. In the 3-5-2, Milinkovic-Savic in goal; three-man defense with Walukiewicz, Coco and Masina; in midfield Pedersen, Ricci, captain Linetty, Gineitis and Sosa; in front of Sanabria and, indeed, the surprise Karamoh.

The race lives on moments, on situations. On both sides.

The first emotion in the 15th minute when Empoli’s opening goal in Ismajili was canceled out: a clear foul against Milinkovic Savic, following a corner kick, by Maleh.

On the reversal in front, it was Sanabria who tried the conclusion from the edge in the 16th minute, with the ball ending up just wide.

Between 24′ and 25′ Milinkovic Savic saves everything with difficult saves on shots from Anjorin and Colombo.

In the 31st minute it was Vasquez who said “no” to Ricci’s header following a precise cross from Borna Sosa: the first real danger created by the Granata this evening.

In the 35th minute another miracle from Vasquez who deflects Sanabria’s header from Pedersen’s cross into a corner. A minute later it’s Coco who heads but hits with a full forehead and the ball ends up over the crossbar.

In the 41st minute Coco even tries with a shot from the edge, in an unusual “offensive percussion”.

The first half ends 0-0. A good first half of the game, fought with Toro closer to scoring the lead.

In the second half, Vlasic immediately came on in place of Gineitis, giving greater offensive weight to the Granata.

Toro started better and in the 47th minute Sosa started on the left and put it in the middle where the ball reached Linetty who shot high.

In the 53rd minute Empoli was very close to scoring but Cacace shot high from two steps: big risk for the Granata.

In the 62nd minute Vanoli chooses Njie and Adams for Karamoh and Sanabria, thus redesigning the attack.

In the 70th minute, a crazy goal from Adams from midfield saw Vasquez out of the posts and with a divine touch he scored: 0-1.

Two minutes later wonderful action by Toro with Sosa putting it in the middle for Njie who serves Adams and his conclusion ends up just wide.

In the 74th minute Dembelé came on for Walukiewicz: it was the fourth substitution for Toro.

In the 80th minute Vlasic’s strike with his shot which ends up just inches wide: another great opportunity in this final match.

In the 83rd minute Lazaro came on in place of Pedersen, hit by a ball in the lower parts.

In the 89th minute, the Tuscan – and former Juve player – De Sciglio was sent off for protests.

And after very long, interminable minutes, Toro wins again. And they do it by suffering on one side and demonstrating that they are healthy, given that Empoli, with the exception of the first half, no longer created problems for the Granata rearguard.
