Nice news from ex-tennis queen Julia Görges. The former top 10 player got married!
The 35-year-old posted pictures of her wedding with boyfriend Wesley Koolhof on her social networks and captioned them: “Mr & Mrs – December 14th, 2024”.
The couple, who have been together since December 2019, tied the knot in Arnhem, Netherlands. The couple has lived there for several years. The photos, which show Görges in a long, white dress with a train and ex-double specialist Koolhof in a chic brown suit, were taken in the tranquil “Landgoed Hotel Groot Warnsborn”.
Numerous tennis stars congratulate Görges on his wedding
Görges moved to neighboring Germany because of love and has had very little to do with tennis since the end of her career.
Nevertheless, numerous former companions were of course also happy about her post. Andrea Petkovic wrote: “Jule, you look amazing. Wesley too, of course. Congratulations.”
Tennis legend Boris Becker also congratulated the newly married couple. Likewise Angelique Kerber, who played alongside Görges in the German tennis circuit for years.
Other well-wishers include tennis stars Stefanos Tsitsipas, Tallon Griekspoor and former world number one Karolina Pliskova.
Görges ended her career in October 2020. Around two years earlier, in August 2018, she reached ninth place in the world rankings – the best position of her career.
In total, Görges won five WTA titles. She also made it to the semi-finals at Wimbledon 2018, but lost to superstar Serena Williams 2:6 and 2:4. Particularly bitter: In the final there would have been a clash with Angelique Kerber. She secured her third and final Grand Slam title against the American.
