Their presidents completed a file and received a positive response from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Council.
These presidents are those of four Viennese sports clubs: the Viennese Legion (gymnastics), the Fencing Circle, the Judo Club and the Rowing Club.
They have just benefited from an appreciable allocation to say the least: that of a 9-seater Renault minibus (8+1 for the driver), which constitutes significant assistance for these clubs whose members sometimes have to travel often to the four corners of the region, or even further afield, for competitions, training courses, etc.
“This saves a number of parents from having to spend a day transporting their children. Traveling together also promotes cohesion within the club, it reduces the risk of accidents and reduces our costs because traveling is expensive,” says the president of the Fencing Circle.
The rewards for the club benefiting from such a vehicle: the sports association signs an agreement specifying the terms of use of the minibus. She must take care of the registration document, maintenance and insurance of the vehicle and each year report on the annual use of the latter to the Regional Council.
The clubs also undertake to use them for at least five years before possibly reselling them.
Each minibus is also adapted to the needs of each club: PRM places, dedicated spaces for equipment, etc.
“To date, in Vienna twelve clubs benefit from such minibuses,” explains, satisfied, Annie Dutron, deputy mayor, in charge of sports.
For Thierry Kovacs, mayor of Vienna, who handed over the keys on Saturday November 30, “this system is a real success: to date, 1,900 minibuses have benefited as many sports clubs in the region. This represents a total budget of around 60 to 70 million euros. »
For the presidents of Viennese clubs who would still be interested in the formula: the system is renewed by the Region next year A word to the wise…
