He celebrated his greatest success in the summer at the Olympic Games in Paris, where he led his protégé Diyora Keldiyorova from Uzbekistan to Olympic victory.
Director of Competitive Sports Michael Bazynski is pleased that Marko Spittka is back in Germany. “He has done a lot for the DJB and as a successful world-class athlete, he has proven in recent years that he can also work very successfully abroad.”
He was a coach in Austria for many years, then was at the Munich base and pushed a lot of things forward there. In the last three years he worked in Uzbekistan and, among other things, formed his Olympic champion, who had previously won two runner-up world championship titles. “He is very motivated and has energy,” says Michael Bazynski, describing him.
In the U18 will be from now on Juan Ignacio Cuneo take over the second national coaching position. The Argentine, who has lived in Leipzig for many years, completed his studies there and worked for the Saxon Judo Association. He has also supported national coach Christopher Schwarzer in the past. He will now be responsible for the U18s together with him. Many improvements are being planned in this area in particular: better cooperation with all trainers in the bases, regular joint training sessions, broader support for athletes. “We are doing everything we can to increase the quality in this age group,” says Michael Bazynski as a goal.
“I am pleased that we have very highly motivated and experienced coaches for both national coaching positions with whom we can tackle the future,” he is certain.
