The “FairPlay gustavo Tolotti” award was established by the National Basketball League to honor the memory of Gustavo Tolotti, a beloved player who graced the courts for numerous Italian teams, including Viola Reggio Calabria, Sebastiani Rieti, Virtus Roma, Roseto, Andrea Costa Imola, and casalpusterlengo.Tolotti, a skilled 2.07-meter winger/center known for his exceptional shot-blocking abilities, represented Italy 22 times on the international stage.His career highlights include participation in the 1990 World Championships in Argentina, a gold medal at the 1991 Mediterranean Games, and a silver medal at the 1994 Goodwill Games. Tragically, Tolotti’s life was cut short by an incurable illness in July 2022. He is remembered not only for his athletic prowess but also for his kindness,humility,and unwavering dedication to mentoring young athletes.
