The judoka Renata Marmolejo gave a bronze to Mexico and the State, in the Pan American Under 15 Judo Championship, which was held in Varadero, Cuba.
Marmolejo began with a resounding victory over the Cuban Samira Estrada and qualified for the semi-finals after defeating the American Sophie Li through Hansokumake, but in the run-up to the final she succumbed, through Wazaari, to De Oliveira from Rio de Janeiro.
In the -44kg repechage, Renata Marmolejo defeated the also Mexican Carmen Bustos, to take the victory.
The hydro-warm Efrén Juárez also attended the Pan American, who lost in his first fight against a Cuban.
Thanks to her medal, Renata Marmolejo was congratulated by the governor of the State, Tere Jiménez, who recognized the talent and dedication of the athletes, while the Sports Institute of the State of Aguascalientes (IDEA), reaffirmed its commitment to supporting young people athletes.
