The young badistas of ChaumontBettancourt and Langres experienced two intense days, Saturday December 14 and Sunday December 15, in Bar-sur-Aube, during the Aube/Haute-Marne Departmental championships. Sweat and efforts that were not in vain. Indeed, Haute-Marne won seven qualifications for the Regionals, on March 8 and 9, in Mulhouse, five for the Chaumont badminton club and two for Bettancourt.
Departmentals which welcomed around 150 players, aged 6 to 17, for singles, doubles and mixed. In Chaumont, if Elsa Comte, who recently won gold in the regional youth Trophy, was well above the younger girls in her category, the prize undoubtedly goes to the chick Manon Vollot. And for good reason. La Chaumontaise has climbed to the highest step of the podium three times! Not only did she easily win the singles, but she also won the doubles, with the Trojan Nina Hohler, then the mixed doubles, with her club mate, Félix Magrini. Work pays!
Among the chicks, Chaumontais Marceau Delfosse also won in the singles, against Trojan Kirane Bonnet. He did it again during the doubles, alongside another Chaumontais, Marius Baizeau. With a hat-trick among the chicks and the chicks, the next generation is here at the Chaumont badminton club!
And it’s not over for the Chaumontais, since Léonard Cordier won the minibad competition, a non-qualifying event for the Regionals.
Junior singles: podium with 100% Haut-Marne badists
The Bettancourt badists were also there. During the singles, in juniors, Pierre Elie Thiéblemont won, while his club mate, Mathis Chauré finished 3rd on a 100% Haut-Marne podium, with Langrois Alexis Bouillaud finishing second. Hats off to Bettancourtoise Lana Drouard who scored a superb hat-trick: After winning the singles, she won the doubles, with Violette Colombain Sylvain, from Nogent-sur-Seine, and the mixed doubles, with Germain Huguenot from Bar- sur-Aube.
It should also be noted the second place of Langroise Auréline Koch in the junior women’s singles.
These are the Departmentals where the Haut-Marnais were there. May it be the same during the Regionals!
