“I stayed in Paiporta with the king, others didn’t”

ValenciaThe pressure for the head of the Council, Carlos Mazón, to resign does not stop. Despite the attempts of the Valencian president to lower the tension and place the focus on the management of the Spanish government’s DANA, the popular leader’s strategy does not seem to be successful. So much so, that this Thursday the tension experienced in the last executive control session of the year forced a break of several minutes and interrupted Mazón’s intervention because, according to the president of the Courts and leader from Vox, Llanos Massó, so it was “impossible to continue”.

The spark of controversy has been ignited by one of Mazón’s most faithful squires, the minister of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment, José Antonio Rovira, who has accused the president of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, of leaving “for pates” on November 3 during the disturbances produced during the visit of the kings to the town of Paiporta. Rovira’s words have seconded previous comments by Mazón on the podium, who had also alluded to Sánchez. “I stayed in Paiporta with the king, others did not”, said the head of the Council in reference to the moment when the institutional representatives suffered the throwing of pieces of mud.

The accusations against Sánchez have been the strategy of Mazón and Rovira to respond to the previous criticisms of the spokesperson of Compromís, Joan Baldoví, who had asked the head of the Council if he can continue in office “a fugitive politician who has not apologized to the families, that he has not met with them and that he has not insulted the towns”. November and when the Minister of Education made gestures with his hands, reproducing the moment when a person leaves a place.

As in the case of Baldoví, Mazón has also refused to answer the questions of the socialist spokesman, José Muñoz, who first accused the conservative politician of “not having clarified what he did on DANA day” and of lying about his performance that day, and then asked him again to show the calls he made with “his mobile phone” last October 29.

2,500 euros for the purchase of a vehicle

As for the announcements, Carlos Mazón has taken advantage of the plenary session to advance an aid line of 250 million euros for those affected by cold gout. This money should be used to award 2,500 euros for each person who has lost a car. The conservative politician has defended that with this measure, the Council responds to the “batibull” of aid approved by the Spanish government. In this sense, the head of the Council has criticized that a citizen “must buy a 50,000 euro electric car to receive the 10,000 euros from the Government [per als de combustió són 5.000 euros] and on top of paying the VAT and paying the personal income tax”. Finally, he also asked the opposition groups that today support the PP’s proposal in the Congress of Deputies to abolish the Income Tax in 2025 IAE and the IBI “for all those affected” by the catastrophe.
