A new Home for Inca’s Athletes: The Transformed Munper Factory
Inca’s commitment to fostering athletic excellence is evident in its latest project: the revitalization of the former Munper factory into a state-of-the-art sports facility. This extraordinary 1,400 square meter space, located on Avinguda Rei Jaume II and accessible via Jocs Street, now serves as a hub for gymnastics and martial arts.
The transformation of this once-abandoned industrial site is a testament to the city’s dedication to repurposing existing structures for the benefit of its residents. With a soaring ceiling height of 7.5 meters in 900 square meters of the space, the facility is perfectly suited for the dynamic movements of artistic gymnastics.
Already, the Club Arthemys Inca, a prominent gymnastics club in the city, has made the space its new home. the Sant Josep Judo Club has also established its headquarters within the revitalized factory. While the facility has been in use for several months, its official inauguration marks a notable milestone for Inca’s sporting community.
mayor Virgilio Moreno emphasizes the importance of providing top-notch facilities for Inca’s athletes. “club Arhemys is a pillar of our city’s sporting landscape and deserves a space that allows it to thrive,” he stated.”This new public space not only caters to the needs of our athletes but also demonstrates our commitment to adapting to the evolving demands of our citizens.”
The Munper factory’s transformation is part of a larger initiative by the Ajuntament d’Inca to enhance its sports infrastructure. This year alone, over one million euros have been allocated to various projects, including the repair of the wooden flooring at the palau Municipal d’Esports and the construction of an outdoor pergola equipped with solar panels.
Further investments have focused on upgrading the Sa Creu pavilion with a new rubber synthetic pavement and installing foam protection panels at the La Salle sports center. adding to the city’s sporting offerings, three new municipal paddle tennis courts have also been completed. These ongoing efforts underscore Inca’s dedication to providing its residents with access to world-class sporting facilities.
