JH: It was extraordinary, no doubt. But what I liked most was seeing that fire in him, that determination to prove himself. We all go thru slumps, and it’s easy to let outside noise impact your game.Murray seemed to shut that out and focus on what matters: his game.

JH: Absolutely crucial. As a player, you have to beleive in yourself, even when others doubt you. Murray’s been around long enough to know he’s a talented player. This resilience is what separates good players from great ones.
And we’ve seen that resilience translate into results. As returning from his hamstring injury, he’s averaging almost 25 points a game. What do you attribute this resurgence to?
JH: A combination of factors. Getting healthy was obviously key. He can now play with explosiveness and confidence again. But I also think it’s mental. I see a player who’s locked in,focused on contributing to the team,and proving himself.

JH: Malone’s spot on. It’s a different era than when I played. Now, everyone has a platform to voice thier opinions, and sometimes those opinions can be harsh. It’s vital for young players to develop a thick skin, to focus on their game, and not get bogged down by negativity online.
Do you think Murray can maintain this level of play and help guide the Nuggets back to championship contention?
JH: Definitely. He has the talent, the drive, and now, the confidence to be a driving force for this team. The Nuggets
have a strong roster, and if Murray can continue to play at this level, they’ll be hard to beat.
