SANTO DOMINGO.- Surprise! Juan Carlos Aguilar won the M15 Tournament after beating Roberto Cid in the final, in a match that lasted more than three hours on the Central Court of the Parque del Este National Tennis Center this Sunday, in the event in which more of 100 players from 20 countries.
Aguilar, from Canada and second seed, dethroned Cid, in sets of 6-4 4-6 and 6-4.
It is worth mentioning that this Sunday was the second final in a row between both tennis players, last Sunday Cid was the champion by 7-5 and 6-3.
This time things were not the same. Cid, the first seed of the tournament, started by winning the first set 4-2, however, the Canadian Aguilar, born in Bolivia, responded and coming from behind won the first set 6-4.
In the second set, the Dominican Cid overcame Aguilar who wanted the trophy, but had to reach the last stretch of the match. Roberto won that set 6-4.
In the third set Cid could not withstand Aguilar who beat him, playing with the public that was not in his favor and tied at 4-4, he won two games in a row, to take his first title in four finals.
