Clutch Reaves Lifts Lakers Over warriors in Thrilling Finish: An Exclusive Interview with Shaq
We’re here today with another episode of “Inside the Game,” and we have a true legend joining us. Four-time NBA champion, MVP, and Hall of Famer, Shaquille O’Neal, welcome too the show, Shaq!
Shaq: Thanks for having me. Always good to be back.
Shaq, last night’s Lakers-Warriors game was a nail-biter. Austin Reaves coming up clutch with the game-winning layup. What were your thoughts on that finish?
Shaq: Man,that kid Reaves,I’ve said it before,he’s got a bright future. He’s got that dawg in him, that icy cool demeanor under pressure. not everyone can sink that shot with the game on the line, but he did.
absolutely, and Stephen Curry was absolutely on fire as usual. 38 points, eight threes, a truly phenomenal performance.Do you see any signs of Curry slowing down?
Shaq: slowing down? steph Curry? You kidding me? That man’s a machine. He could play till he’s 45 and still be dropping 30. With his work ethic and dedication to the game, age is just a number for Steph.
You mentioned “dawg” in Reaves. LeBron James also showed a lot of heart last night, 31 points, 10 assists. He was battling hard despite the late-game injury scare to Anthony Davis. Do you think LeBron is still capable of carrying this Lakers team deep into the playoffs?
shaq: LeBron’s a champion, always will be.
But let’s be real, he needs help. He can’t do it all by himself anymore. Davis going down like that is a big blow. The Lakers need everyone healthy if they want to make a serious run.
It’s certainly an uphill battle with the tough competition in the West. What do you think the Lakers need to improve on moving forward?
Shaq: Consistency, that’s what they need. They can’t afford to have these up-and-down performances. They need to find their rhythm, build that chemistry on both ends of the floor.
I agree with you, Shaq. This Lakers team has the potential, but they need to find that consistency to be a true contender.
Shaq, anything else you want to add for our readers?
Shaq: Just keep an eye on Reaves. He’s the real deal. and of course, let’s go Lakers!
Thanks for those insights, Shaq. It’s always a pleasure talking to you. We appreciate you joining us on “Inside the Game.”
