Lakers, Vanderbilt’s return to the field will be delayed

After foot surgery for a right midfoot sprain on February 1, 2024 and bursitis in his left heel, Jarred Vanderbilt will still have to delay his return to the field. The Los Angeles Lakers announced that there were complications during his recovery.

The player has found fluid in his knee which will necessarily postpone his debut on the pitch with the Lakers to January. Before the injury, Vanderbilt was playing a decent season in the yellow and purple jersey, until he stopped on February 1, 2024. Since September 2023, the Houston native has played 29 games out of 109. For him, an existing contract worth 48 million until 2027 .

The Lakers are going through a difficult period, with LeBron James struggling to shoot and a team that at times seems to lack consistency on the pitch, both in attack and defense. JJ Reddick will wait for Vanderbilt to return to the field to try to recover him and insert him back into the Lakers’ rotations.
