An intense weekend, the one just passed, for Libertas sports club Molfetta and the athletes of the sectors Judo, Karate e Lotta.
While waiting for the end-of-year lessons with Christmas parties, an event always awaited by families for the enjoyment of athletes of all ages, the competitive sector did not stop but achieved important sporting successes in two days.
The weekend was inaugurated by Judoengaged on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December at Palazzo San Gervasio in Basilicata for the CSAIN national championship, “Memorial Giannizzeri”, with 18 athletes.
On Saturday, under the technical guidance of the coach Alicino Sebastianothey went down on the De tatami Robertis Cosimo1st place in the 46 kg Beginners B, Camporeale Giorgia Maria e D’Agostino Vittoria both placed 2nd respectively in the 52 Kg Cadets and 63 Kg Seniors, Camporeale Raffaele Pio 3rd place in the 66 kg Cadets. Good performance from both the individuals and the team and for them also their first emotions on the tatami outside of the regional context.
On Sunday 15th, however, 14 of the representatives of the Polisportiva Libertas competed on the Judo tatami of the Giannizzeri Memorial, collecting cups and medals as well as sporting and competitive experience.
For the classes Beginners A (2012), Boys (2013-2014), Children (2015-2016) and Children (2017-2018) they competed De Candia Marco (1st class Children 21 kg), Quezerelli Andrea (1st class Boys +60 kg), Minervini Antonio (1st class Children 32 kg), Porta Elisabetta (1st class Boys 48 kg), Totorizzo Elena (1st class, Boys 40 Kg), Allegretta Alessio Pasquale (2nd class Children +50 kg), Gadaleta Damiano (2^ class Esord A +73 kg), Cifarelli Damiano (3rd class Boys 66 kg), Francesco Cifarelli (3rd class Children 28 kg), D’Agostino Luigi (3rd class Children 40 kg), Of Benedictus Michele (3rd class Children 40 kg), De Candia Giuseppe (3rd class Children 28 kg), Errico Cosimo e The Cinzia Forge just at the foot of the podium in the Children’s classes. Busy day for coach Alicino with many athletes to follow and many satisfactions to reap.
Also on December 15th, on the stage of the large PalaFlorio in Bari, the last stage of the Junior Karate Grand Prix took place, which during the Christmas period reserves a special day for Under 6, Under 8, Under 10 athletes with courses, games and performances of kata. 13 very young athletes took part in this event (Annese Cristian, Armenio Cristhian, Bellifemine Mattia, Gianfrancesco Noemy, Lazzizzera Mattia, Murolo Giovanni, Petruzzella Angelo, Raguseo Marcantonio, Ranieri Flavio, Ranieri Sara, Ropaj Leo, Sarcino Antonio, Stasi Michele) who have formed a group, team and above all experience in sharing a moment of sport with friends and other peers.
However, the tenor of the second part of the event was decidedly different, in which 5 athletes from the Under 12 and Under 14 age groups were involved, competing in the Kata specialty. No podium for Carbonara Gabriele Carlo, De Candia Filippo, De Gioia Matilde, De palo Gabriele e De Ruvo Marica (some of them stopped at the foot of the podium), but good performances in a specialty that in the last two years the Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta is not particularly favoring, having given space to Kumitè in May. For the instructor Coppolecchia Antonio and his collaborators there are good ideas for work to best prepare for 2025.
In order not to miss anything, again on Sunday 15 December, the Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta was present in Pisa with the Fighting sector coached by Michele Amatofor the Italian Open. An event dedicated to the memory of Maestro Mario Cerrai, coach of the VVF Pisa, who won his first national title as a coach in Molfetta in an Italian Championship organized by the Polisportiva Libertas.
Not just coaches and athletes. Sunday 15 December was also a busy day for the referees who report to the Polisportiva Libertas Molfetta, where they train and prepare to collaborate in the best management of sporting events at various levels. On Sunday he was in Pisa for the fight Michele Amatowhile in Bari for Karate Spadavecchia Francesco, Ferrieri Mauro, Cormio Pantaleo, Freda Carlo e Sasso Daniele.
Finally, it is obligatory to mention the brilliant performance of the young Karateka Trident Gianluigi who at the beginning of the month tested himself in Venice in the Youth League Committeeyouth event with athletes from all over the world. There were over 90 participants in his category and he had to undergo several matches to reach the pool semi-finals, where he had to give way, failing to reach the podium. Competition with a high technical and competitive profile in which the young Trident showed good Karate, returning with many ideas to work on and improve.
The Polisportiva Liberta Molfetta continues its great work in contact sports such as Olympic Wrestling, judo, Karate and in the very young age groups with introductory courses to sport for ages 2 to 5.
