The City of Marieville unveiled its budget last night. Marievillois will experience a tax increase of 2.26%.
This 2.26% increase represents an average increase of $69.16 on citizens’ tax bills. In 2025, the average value of a residential property in Marieville increased to $491,665 compared to $302,391 for the year 2024.
The operating budget for the coming year is $26.6 million.
Big projects
The City has adopted a five-year capital expenditure program, for which it plans overall investments of $71,239,748. Of this amount, $13,125,375 is planned for 2025 to carry out the following main projects:
construction of the community center and library;
acquisition and replacement of various equipment in the Fire Safety Service;
replacement of the lighting of the baseball field at Sainte-Marie-de-Monnoir park with LED bulbs;
installation of charging stations for electric vehicles;
repair of the Cèdres pumping station;
continued upgrading of the Julien-Beauregard arena, particularly with the redevelopment of the players’ rooms;
addition of street furniture to alleviate traffic;
replacement of a pump in the drinking water tank;
acquisition of various equipment and vehicles;
addition of lighting in the Boisé sector.
