Yet another prestigious medal for Judo Kodokan Empoli, which climbed to the third step of the podium at the Italian A2 Junior/Senior judo team championship, staged at the Pala Pellicone in Ostia. A bronze obtained thanks to the performances of Alessio Di Clemente (-66kg), Giulio Manenti (-73kg), Gherardo Lippi (-73kg), Lorenzo Tosi (-81kg), Davide Parri (-81kg) and Francesco Tosi (-90kg), as well as Davide Graziosi (+90kg) and Mattia Zollesi (-66kg), on loan from Harmony Club and Cus Parma respectively. Coach Alessandro Di Clemente will lead the Empoli expedition. A historic result that closes a sporting season already full of individual satisfactions for Giulio Manenti, silver in the A2 Italian Cup, and Gherardo Lippi, bronze in the A2 Italian Junior Championships. The successes achieved on the tatami by athletes, both large and small, are combined with the great commitment made by Kodokan Empoli in the area for social and voluntary purposes, starting from self-defence courses organized in schools up to awareness-raising initiatives against violence against women, including the most recent one on November 30th inside the Coop Empoli Center.
Added to all this is the now consolidated collaboration with “Lilith Centro Aiuto Donna”, which has also led to the organization of a judo tournament scheduled for next January 19th in Fucecchio, with more than 600 young and old athletes, the proceeds will be entirely donated to the Lilith Center.
