Mata Leão Basket, debut with a bang in the UISP championship: the Hirpinian Nuts demolished

Benevento’s Mata Leão won by a landslide on her debut in the UISP basketball championship with a clear score against the Hirpinian Nuts of Avellino (81-30).

The match was never in question given the significant gap between the two teams. In fact, the Avellino team are novices in the championship making their debut in Uisp and immediately found themselves facing the team that has had no rivals at inter-provincial level for two years and the final result proves it with over 50 points difference.

Even though we are only at the beginning of the season, Mata Leão is already recording a small record, in fact with this second victory in two games, also considering the positive debut in the ASI championship, Davide Formichella on his debut on the bench remains the only coach for now of senior teams still unbeaten in Benevento, confirming the goodness of the Giallorossi’s choice to entrust him with the reins of the team.

Cozzi, another former AP Libertà, made a positive debut and credit goes to Stefano Orlacchio who finally found an excellent scoring streak with 17 points and achieved the top score of the match.

Now back on the field for the ASI where the “top” of the rankings will already be played against Phoenix Caserta, again on Monday at 9 pm on December 9th and always at Rummo at home.

SCORESHEET: Home team: Pasquariello 6, Cozzi 3, rotondi 9, Orlacchio St. 17, Collarile G. 12, Puzio R. 6, Romano S. 9, Bocchino 9, Puzio A. 8, Mennella 2.
