Maxi operation against predatory crimes in the Padua area

The extraordinary control operations of the territory by the Carabinieri of the Provincial Command of Padua continue unabated, with the aim of combating predatory crimes and guaranteeing greater safety for citizens.

Yesterday evening, the soldiers of the Cittadella Company deployed a targeted service, concentrated on the municipalities of Villa del Conte, Santa Giustina in Colle, Borgoricco, Camposampiero, Campodarsego and San Martino di Lupari. The initiative, carried out in the afternoon and evening, saw an increase in patrols both along the main road arteries and in the most vulnerable residential areas.

The operation involved the local Carabinieri stations, supported by the crews of the Cittadella Company’s Radiomobile Unit, with significant results: 60 people identified and 43 vehicles subjected to checks. Among the most relevant interventions, the military reported an 18-year-old resident in the Cittadella area for illegally carrying weapons and objects capable of offending. During a vehicle search, the young man was found in possession of a 70 centimeter baseball bat, for which he was unable to provide valid justification. The object has been seized, and the case against it is now in the preliminary investigation phase. The presumption of innocence remains valid until any final sentence.

“These extraordinary services – comment by the Provincial Command – are fundamental to combat the phenomenon of home burglaries and provide a decisive response against crimes that affect property.”

The activity has already shown a notable deterrent effect and will not stop here: further extraordinary checks are already planned which will affect the entire province, confirming the Carabinieri’s commitment to guaranteeing the safety of the community.
