John McEnroe, a tennis legend, stopped by Andy Roddick’s ‘Served’ podcast to give his opinion on what he expects for the 2025 season, focusing in his analysis on the challenges that Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will have to face.
McEnroe openly expressed his concern about Alcaraz, stating that he sees him as low compared to the rest of his rivals and believes that this could take its toll on him. “You see their rivals and they are all so big… Do they have the explosive speed of Alcaraz? No, but I’m worried about Carlos, because he’s 1.83 meters tall and the rest of the tennis players are going to drive him crazy. He’s going to face guys who serve from a mountain and he’s going to feel frustrated.as happened at the end of this season. “It will be very difficult, but you will have to be strong.”
‘Big Mac’ also reviewed Andy Murray’s new collaboration as Novak Djokovic’s coach, and hopes that this new union will shine at the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the year. “I am happy for this collaboration between Murray and Djokovic. I’m sure it will be a very short collaboration, but I think this union gives more interest to tennis worldwide. I hope Djokovic wins the Australian Open because Murray needs positive feelings in his first experience as a coach.”
