TAO CHAMPION OF LOIRE JUDO FIRST DIVISION

Tao Nahuel Raffin became Loire Cadet Judo Champion in the -60kg category, this Saturday, November 30 in Andrézieux-Bouthéon. 5 fights, 5 ippons; standing, on the ground, and finishing with an arm lock in the final, Tao showed all his range and his technical quality in this competition to the great pleasure shared with his coach Arnaud Godin, and his partner and “friend” Quentin Carricondo who had a very good competition for his part, finishing 5th and scoring valuable points for his black belt which is fast approaching. Both are qualified for the cadet interdepartmental championships which will take place in 15 days in Yssingeaux.

Note that the club was still well represented in this competition with also Vincent Carricondo who is discovering the cadet level in -65kg, and on the girl’s side Paula Dinet Chaize also showed great desire for her first competition in the cadet category. Paula is qualified for the inter-departmentals.

Maxence and Sacha were on the scorers’ table side as trainees in the refereeing school as sports commissioners throughout the day for another vision of the competition.

A WEEKEND OF CHAMPIONS! ZIA CHAMPION OF THE LOIRE

Sunday, the turn of the juniors, the usual Zia Irupé Raffin, Maxence Godin and Sacha Barroux, accompanied by Violette Girardin for her first departmental championships. In the morning, the boys started the competition. For Sacha it was difficult, Maxence for his part won the title of vice-champion of the Loire with a superb silver medal. A great competition which confirms its performances from last week.

Violette, for her part, came across experienced fighters but she still showed her self-sacrifice during the fights, and great combativeness.

Finally, Zia was back to put his title on the line in under 36kg. 4 fights, 4 ippons. A new departmental title for her, where she showed her technique and her power. A competition that she built on very strong kumi-kata holds (kimono holds).
