The Medellín delegation It had the participation of 784 athletes, who were crowned champions of the 47th version of the Indeportes Antioquia Departmental Sports Games – 2024, which took place in the municipalities of Andes, Jardín and Apartadó.
According to what they indicated, the delegation from the mountain capital managed to recover the first position in the medal table of these departmental competitions, title lost in 2023 against Apartadó.
The athletes obtained 181 gold medals, 139 silver and 109 bronze, achieving the title of departmental champion. With this title, the city of Medellín reaches its twentieth title, and of 41 tournaments put into play in the three venues that served the fairs (Andes, Jardín and Apartadó), it won 22, equivalent a little more than half of the championships.

The deputy director of Development at Inder, Juliana Vélez, reported that during the sporting event the athletes received food, accommodation, hydration, transportation, uniforms, doctors, psychologists, physical trainers, physiotherapists, methodologists, logistical support and trainers.
Medellin athletes stood out in cycling route, Olympic wrestling, badminton, adapted athletics and soccer.

The event was attended by more than 7 thousand athletes from 90 towns in the nine subregions of the department. The other 19 championships were held by Apartadó, Itagüí, Envigado, Bello, La Ceja del Tambo, Rionegro, with two titles each and Guarne, Dabeiba, Abejorral, Sopetrán, Titiribí, Marinilla and El Santuario with one title.
Let us remember that Medellín won the first title of these games in 2004 in Santa Fe de Antioquia and consecutively maintained the leadership until 2022, and in 2023, in the 46th edition of the Departmental Games, Apartadó won over Medellín.
