The Mexican archers Alejandra Valencia, Matías Grande, Maya Becerra and Dafne Quintero will say goodbye to 2024 in the international elite, after ensuring their presence in the Top 10 of the world ranking of their respective events in the last update of the year.
Valencia, team bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, took fourth place in women’s recurve with 234.75 points, only surpassed by the South Korean and three-time Olympic champion, Lim Sihyeon, the American Casey Kaufhold and the Indian Deepika Kumari.
Grande, Olympian and current continental monarch, occupies ninth position in men’s recurve with 184.75 points achieved in a year in which he established himself as the best national exponent of his branch, even winning the gold medal together with Valencia in the World Cup from Yecheon.
Mexico also has places of honor in the women’s composite, since Maya Becerra is the second best in the world with 302.75 points (only behind the British Ella Gibson). While Dafne Quintero took eighth place with 218 points.
After a 2024 in which it shone with its own light in the international competitions that were present, Mexican archery is now getting ready for a new season with the 2025 National Team, which will begin in the second week of January and will consist of four phases to define the team that will represent the Country throughout the year.
