The NBA market lights up: amidst the rumors regarding Jimmy Butler, they are the Miami Heat to be protagonists of one trade. As anticipated by Shams Charania of ESPN, the franchise has agreed to sell Thomas Bryant to Indiana Pacers. The latter will send a swap of a future second-round pick to the field. The deal has been finalized but can only be finalized on Sunday, when Bryant becomes eligible for trades. For 2024-25 Bryant has a guaranteed $2 million contract.
The 27-year-old ends his second experience in Miami, where he had already played 38 games in 2023/24. In the current season, however, he has recorded 10 appearances with a use of 11.5 minutes per game in which he produced 4.1 points per game with 3.2 rebounds, 43% from the field and 35% from three. After the years in Washington – in 2020/21 he averaged 14.3 points and 6.1 rebounds – the player was no longer able to find much space in the NBA. We’ll see if he can fit into coach Rick Carlisle’s rotations at the Pacers.
