He Necochea Sports Journalists Circlein collaboration with the leaders of the Club Del Valleofficially presented the 25th Great Sports Festival “Juan Alberto Poteca”. This event seeks to recognize the talent and effort of sportsmen locales and honor outstanding figures from different disciplines.
During the announcement, the president of the Circle, Agustín Betancorexpressed his gratitude to the Toledo Theater for its support and highlighted the importance of the event being named after Juan Alberto Potecaan emblematic figure of sports journalism in the region.

The details of the Great Sports Festival
The event will have two dates important for their development:
- Tuesday December 10: The delivery of Special Mentions and Recognitions will take place at the Toledo Theater, marking the beginning of the celebration.
- Tuesday December 17: The “Hanging Bridge” gala will be held, where the Athlete of the Year 2024 will be announced. During this ceremony, the most outstanding athletes from Necochea in the last year will also be awarded.
At the launch, the special recognitions that will be part of the celebration:
- Great Forever Award: It will be given in tribute to Mario “Negro” Márquez, an emblematic figure of local soccer, who died this year.
- Sports Glory: It will recognize the outstanding career of Walter “Tato” Rossi, symbol of basketball in the region.
- Entity of the Year: It will be awarded to the Ministry of Public Works Club, in recognition of its important social and sports work.
- Leader of the Year: This award will highlight Horacio Améndola, for his organizational work in the National Adapted Swimming Tournament held in Necochea.
