The council today approved the executive project for the strengthening of the sporting offer at the Perraro athletics field which involves the construction of a new covered structure which will include a four-lane track, with a pit for the long jump, a badminton court , three table tennis tables, toilets and warehouse.
The intervention is financed by the European NextGeneratioEU fund as part of the Pnrr (Mission 5, Component 2, Investment 3.1 Inclusion and cohesion. Social infrastructures, families, communities and third sector – Sport and social inclusion – CUP B32H22003760006) for the amount of 1 million 400 thousand euros, while a further 400 thousand euros were financed by the Municipality through a mute.
It was necessary to integrate the sum financed by Pnrr following the strong increase in prices and to allow better compliance with the technical sporting needs of the Atletica Vicentina company that manages the structure.
The project was illustrated in the Stucchi room by the councilors for sport Leone Zilio and for public works Cristiano Spiller.
«The new building will be built between the athletics track and via Goldoni; the structure will have underfloor heating, to allow training even in the winter period – commented the councilor for public works Cristiano Spiller – The lateral structures will be removable to allow use even during the warmer months. The project has undergone changes to adapt to the needs that users have submitted to the current administration. The Municipality co-participates in this project with an investment of 400 thousand euros; an important effort given that, overall, all PNRR projects have so far required co-participation from the municipal administration for around 4 million euros.».
«The last of the Pnrr sports projects to get underway is precisely the one for the Perraro field – said the sports councilor Leone Zilio -. The new 1140 square meter large structure has a particular shape: on the northern front it adapts to the curve of the athletics track while it is linear on the south-east and west. In addition to the four-lane track, with the long jump pit, it will include a badminton court and three table tennis tables and a warehouse. The internal structure of the camp will be built in such a way as to allow opening during the summer months.”
The works will start in 2025 and will last approximately 6 months.
